Genians Demystifies Securing all Connected Devices in the IoT Era at The ASEAN Cyber Defense Conference 2019

North Andover, Mass. – June 17, 2019 – Genians, the industry leader of Next-Gen Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, announced today it will be attending the 2019 ASEAN Cyber Defense Conference (CYDEF) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 18 through 19.

CYDEF 2019 brings together cyber security practitioners, academics, and industry professionals to share their experiences and to provide their organizations with a forum in which to address the challenges involved in securely embracing digital transformation. This year the conference aims to provide answers to the most basic cybersecurity questions that every business stakeholder needs to possess:

  • Can cyber aggressors truly cause chaos to my organization or even destabilize a nation?
  • How can governments, businesses, and civil society collaborate in more effectively addressing cyberspace threats?

To help conference attendees achieve these fundamental learnings, Genians’ CTO Kyeyeon Kim will highlight the most important things to keep in mind in order to secure the increasing number of devices connecting to their network in the IoT era. By 2020, that number will reach 30 billion or more. Without knowing exactly what these devices are, we cannot hope to control them effectively.

As Kyeyeon points out: “The role of Device Platform Intelligence is becoming increasingly critical in the IoT age. Organizations require the intelligence needed to address not only technology-specific matters, such as device fingerprinting, but also to identify both business- and risk-related contexts. Any changes to a network’s security posture must be detected and alerts triggered in real time. Without this fundamental capability, no other security solution will be able to help organizations achieve the level of critical detail needed to properly control their security environments.”

Kyeyeon will present his session on the topic “More Devices Equals More Threats” on Day 2 of the conference:

  • Date: 19 June 2019
  • Time: 9:00 AM -9:30 AM (MYT)

The session will guide business and technology stakeholders in leveraging comprehensive Device Platform Intelligence to establish a fundamental cybersecurity platform.
