Genians wins Cisco Hackcamp 2018!

Genians’ Next-Gen Network Access Control solutions enhance Cisco’s DNA framework

We’re very pleased to announce that Team Genians has just won first place at the Cisco Hackcamp 2018 competition on May 25th, 2018, in Seoul, South Korea. As part of Cisco’s “DevNet” program, the purpose of Hackcamp is to bring together and challenge advanced developers from the networking industry – experts in cloud computing, collaboration technologies, data center operations, and secure network access control – to leverage Cisco’s market-leading “Digital Network Architecture (DNA)”  technologies to create innovative new solutions that can be applied in various business contexts immediately.

Team Genians successfully demonstrated how to integrate Cisco DNA with Genians’ Next-Gen Network Access Control solution, Genian NAC.

As Kyeyeon Kim, CTO of Genians, noted: “The point of this integration effort is to ensure users can access appropriate network resources more securely and productively. With this particular solution demo, Genians demonstrated how Genian NAC can be easily integrated into Cisco’s DNA framework to provide comprehensive and detailed visibility of all network endpoint devices, while also providing advanced Network Access Control capabilities to more effectively address non-compliant devices and users. Moreover, we expect that Cisco DNA will be able to expand its capabilities even more broadly and deeply as Genian NAC performs with equal effectiveness across multiple, heterogeneous network environments (Legacy, 802.1x, and IT/OT).”

Bum-Coo Cho, Country Manager for Cisco Systems, South Korea, stated that “sharing the Cisco Hackcamp participants’ ideas and implementing them using Cisco’s solution will accelerate Cisco’s business and help all participants gain tremendous experience. So, this represents a win-win for both. Cisco will continuously support outstanding developers and vendors to achieve their goals and collaborate with them to grow successful businesses.”

Genians and Cisco will continue to work together to build better security solutions and bring more secure network access capabilities to market.

About Cisco’s Digital Network Architecture (DNA)

As Cisco states, it is “disrupting the industry by building a new networking platform that can learn, adapt, and secure itself at the speed of today’s businesses. This Digital Network Architecture platform automates network management and provides customers with state-of-the-art analytics and insights.

Intent-based networking is the difference between a network that needs continuous attention and one that simply understands what you need and makes it happen. It’s the difference between doing thousands of tasks manually and having an automated system that helps you focus on business goals. Cisco DNA is the open, software-driven platform that turns vision into reality. Virtualization, automation, analytics, and cloud, all in one architecture.”

Why NAC? Why Genians?

Frost & Sullivan’s “Global Network Access Control Market, Forecast to 2024” indicates that Network Access Control (NAC) has become an important element in the development of Zero Trust Networks (ZTN) as it provides visibility, monitoring, and control at the network access layer.
